How we work

Editorial standards

CamperCriteria exists to help you buy the right RV and camper gear the first time. These rules apply to every page we publish.

Accuracy first

Specs, sizes, prices and rules come from the primary source: the manufacturer, the retailer's own store, or the sport's governing body. When sources disagree, we use the manufacturer's current page and note the date we checked it.

We never invent

We do not invent specs, test results, discounts, testimonials or partnerships. A product is called hands-on tested only when we have used it. A brand is called a partner only when we have a signed agreement or an active reader code with them.

Independence

Brands cannot pay for a review, a ranking or a spot in a guide. Partner codes save readers money; they do not decide what we recommend, and a brand without a code can top a list.

Affiliate links

Some links earn us a commission when you buy, at no extra cost to you. Every page with shop links says so. Read the full affiliate disclosure.

Safety

Protective gear guidance points to the certification or standard that applies, such as the governing body's rule or the lab standard printed on the product. We do not claim any gear prevents injury.

Updates and corrections

Every guide and review shows the date it was last updated. We revise pages when a product, price or rule changes, and fix errors as soon as we confirm them. Send corrections to info@campercriteria.com.

How we review

Our testing methodology explains what we check for each product type and how research-based and hands-on pages differ.
